What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Product Orders

We collect information about you during the checkout process on our store. You are not required to create an account to make a purchase, it does make it convenient to track your orders and view past purchases.

What we collect and store

While you visit our site, we’ll track:

  • Products you’ve viewed: we’ll use this to, for example, show you products you’ve recently viewed
  • Location, IP address and browser type: we’ll use this for purposes like estimating taxes and shipping
  • Shipping address: we’ll ask you to enter this so we can, for instance, estimate shipping before you place an order, and send you the order!

We’ll also use cookies to keep track of cart contents while you’re browsing our site.

When you purchase from us, we’ll ask you to provide information including your name, billing address, shipping address, email address, phone number, credit card/payment details and optional account information like username and password. We’ll use this information for purposes, such as, to:

We generally store information about you for as long as we need the information for the purposes for which we collect and use it, and we are not legally required to continue to keep it. For example, we will store order information for 7 years for tax and accounting purposes. This includes your name, email address and billing and shipping addresses.

We will also store comments or reviews if you choose to leave them.

Who on our team has access

Members of our team have access to the information you provide us. For example, both Administrators and Shop Managers can access:

  • Order information like what was purchased, when it was purchased and where it should be sent, etc.
  • Customer information like your name, email address, and billing and shipping information.

Our team members have access to this information to help fulfill orders, process refunds and support you.

Payments

Cryptocurrency

Our Monero cryptocurrency payment is directly to our wallet and is totally peer to peer (P2P), we don’t trust third-parties with our Monero. We do run a full node and Monero is the preferred payment method as it has many advantages for both the buyer and the seller. Privacy is important and Monero is 

Our other cryptocurrency options are direct to wallet and any information about the payment is not shared with third parties. If you need to pay by another cryptocurrency please contact us and if it is acceptable to us we will let you know, then you may proceed to placing your order and we will provide a payment address. Or just do an instant swap and send us Monero.

Cryptocurrency payment information is not shared with third parties.

Credit Cards 

We collect personal information from you when a purchase is made on silvercoconut.com that includes: Name, Address, Phone Numbers if entered, Email Address, etc. We use your information to complete your order and also provide this information to carriers in order to get your order delivered. If you have made a purchase from us you will also be added to our email list if you do not wish to be subscribed let us know or there is an unsubscribe link on all our emails. 

Credit Card and other financial information is not collected by us directly but is collected and processed by our payment processors including  Apple Pay,  Stripe and Paypal where available. Your credit card number is never seen or made available to us and is not stored on our servers. You can find more information about their privacy policies at the respective links.

Apple Pay (when chosen as a way to make purchases): Personal information is passed through to Apple, including information required to process or support the payment, such as the purchase total and billing information.

Stripe (when chosen as a way to make purchases): Is used to process credit card payments. When processing payments, some of your data will be passed to Stripe, including information required to process or support the payment, such as the purchase total and billing information.

Note: we do not see your credit card information your payment details are passed directly through Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) directly to Stripe.

PayPal (when chosen as the way to make a purchase): When processing payments, some of your data will be passed to PayPal, including information required to process or support the payment, such as the purchase total and billing information.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/ . After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

If you contact us from our contact form we use the information provided by you such as name and email address to reply. You, however, will not add be added to our email marketing list by our contact us page. If you wish to subscribe to our email list do so via the subscribe button.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to save your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

What we share with others

We share information with third parties who help us provide our orders and store services to you; for example —

Silver Coconut has removed the various share buttons from the wishlist page and has left the share buttons on the product page as they don’t track users.

We do not use Google Analytics ,or Google Tag Manager, or a Facebook Pixel instead we just use a simple plugin that counts page views and number of visitors.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

We share information with third parties who help us provide our orders and store services to you; For example –  When purchases are made we share information with shipping Carriers so that they can deliver your order to you this may include name and address phone number and email address.
